So I've been losing weight consistently for about six months now, and I haven't gotten my period in six months either. I'm a bit confused.... Anybody else been through the same thing or have any advice? Thanks

If your bodyfat % gets too low, you won't have your period. For most women, that can be anywhere from about 18% and lower.
I'd suggest you go see a doctor.

Do go and see a doctor. If your bodyfat % is too low, there are serious health risks. And there may be something else that is causing this, which could also be a risk to your health.

I don't know, I'm 13 and female.... Hard to believe, I know (:
I bet a lot of us have been in this position... we can see the abs when we flex, but we can't get that last little bit off! very frustrating. I've been doing my cardio and eating 500 below my TDEE, and things were happening, but it seems as if I've just hit this plateau and progress just... stopped as I got closer. This all paints a very disturbing picture. If it helps any, you do realise most guys find girls with a 6 pack unattractive? Not to mention how disasterous an affect getting one can have on the female body.

Yeah, mine's below 18 %....
Women's healthy bodyfat range is from 20% to 35%. 18% is already unhealthy, and below that it gets worse. Seeing your abs when you flex them is a bad sign too. And if you haven't got your period, that's a serious sign that something's wrong. Uglok is right -- what you posted is concerning. I have an anorexic sister, and it's not fun neither for herself nor for us, the relatives. Go to a doctor, NOW.

No joke, you want your bodyfat to be above 20% and can still look great with it (in my opinion - and most others' too, curves are better than flat, hands down - healthier, more attractive and reflects well to seem like a balanced/stronger person).
Attached image taken from "The Teen Brain" by Sherre Florence Phillips, specifically looking at female puberty stages. Bodyfat distribution will change over the teenage years, as will the base requirement for fat itself to live a healthy lifestyle.

Isn't it getting a bit misleading? None of us knows what the problem actually is. What is found attractive or unattractive is pretty subjective and irrelevant. Last time I saw this user's picture, it didn't look unhealthy. I've seen/worked with much leaner girls that didn't have such problem. All she needs is a doctor visit.

Supersonic, super destructive, seemingly unresistable. On the job around the clock, with 24 hour a day reliability. Constantly monitoring, pulse-taking, controlling. Into a continuous flow of interpretation, which could be understood at a glance.

I think girls with 6 packs are attractive (as long as they are not super ripped)

Misleading or not, working on hunches. When you're going for a 6-pack, it's not normally an aim to be healthy or a certain strength - the aim is purely cosmetic. Hence I assumed attraction was mixed in there somewhere.

Sounds like Amenorrhoea, do you do super intense workouts and not having enough calories? P.S. I'm a nursing student.

No, my workouts are usually only 40 minutes and I'd say I get enough calories, usually 1900- 2400.

Gosh, could be a few things: (questions/points that don't necessarily need answered but that you might want to ask yourself) 1. Are you on prescription medications? 2. How about your hormone levels, have you acted any differently in the past few months, irregularly emotional or irrational or angry or (insert too much of any emotion) 3. What are your stress levels like? Needless to say, I think a doctor (who can run some tests) will have the best results. As long as you feel healthy, I don't know how much you should have to worry about.

Now my body fat is below 17% but I don't have any period issue and got nice 6 pack abs. We shouldn't assume less than 18% is dangerous to women.
However, I'm worried if Danny105 has seen doctor. Please post and let us know what you are now.
Although we all want to be in good shape, not at a sacrifice of health!!!!
