Womens workouts!
My interview with success story winner Alyssa gave me the motivation and reminded me of the dire need for some good beginning womens workouts. I googled it and just got pathetic stuff.
Alyssa's story is incredible, I cant wait to aire it on YouTube because I know it will inspire countless other women.
She is proof that good nutrition and resistance training can make women lean, strong, and toned without losing one iota of feminity.
She is doing the NPC contest December 3 in Culver City if you want to show up and be supportive!

You could introduce her and these workouts wearing a red long wig under your hat.
It would be an instant success.

Good idea. I'll be sure to send a link to my wife, she looks good but she doesn't do any exercise apart from walking to and from work (already 50 mins per day, not too bad).

Looking forward to that video.
I still argue that a woman doesn't really need to train any differently than a man. However, her goals might be completely different.
So it wouldn't really be a question of men should do Y and women should do X; I know I'm the only one who thought a chromosome joke would be funny Rather it is tailoring workouts for different sets of goals.

That has always been a pet peeve of mine too! In my women's workout page I tried to make this point clear. There is no reason at all a woman cant do powerlifting workouts and a man cant do a "woman's" whole body workout.

Ah there may not be any physical reason but people then d to like being unique. The whole advertizing industry has made it clear that there are products for men and products for women. One forum/website will not undo billions of dollars of constant advertizing for hair care, vitamins, etc... Best to admit men and women are different and/or have different goals and a work out can be different. In essence can't beat em join em.

A major problem IMO is that a lot of women's workouts tend to emphasize this thing they call "toning", which we know doesn't actually exist. There's fat loss and muscle gain, and combined you get the "toning" they refer to. So to lose fat and gain muscle, I don't really see a need for gender bias there. A second issue is the assumption that weight training will make women look like sinewy, vascular monstrosities (aka, Arnold with boobs), when in reality it takes a ton of work and dieting to get anywhere near that. Even Suzana of BodyRock doesn't have the pro BB body despite the tons of work she does, although her bodyfat levels are really low and she does have some definition.
It's tough between the preconceived notions and all the male hormones flying around (GET SWOLE BRAH!) for women to want to bother visiting BB sites in a lot of cases, so having a friendly place with good info and helpful advice would be welcome I'm sure.

Women should just stick to pink 1-3kg dumbbells and pilates ball or they will become huge steroid monsters. That is what media wants us to believe.

Scooby I know men and women can do the same workouts but I appreciate this section. My wife is starting to come around about getting into shape. She has some preconcieved notions about working out with weights. I guess she thinks she'll pick up a heavy dumbbell and become arnoldina swatsinhogger.
Anyway I am going to have her and my daughter watch the lady video, I think she will be more likely to get started with some inspiration from another lady. Then when I have her attention I will get her hooked on the Scooby videos:)
Thanks Again, I forgot the girls name as I am typing but she did a great job and is an inspiration to men as well as women.

Well there are some differences between men and women but nothing that should separate how they workout. Like many women are much more flexible and mobile than men and wider hips give a predisposition for stuff like ACL tears so it's really important to work on glute and often hamstring strength as well as do the obvious core work like a simple plank or two. But men should work on the exact same thing! Hopefully Alyssa inspires countless women and the workout teaches countless men a thing or two

Women i know allways tell me that the bigest obstacle in a workout routine is boredom. They said that they dont like to count reps or doing stacionary movements.. Make it fun and combining cardio with resistence is the key IMHO. Thats why my sister and friends like the scoobys women routine so much

I second this. I believe that women benefit from men-oriented workouts and can do them with good results. I further believe that women's muscles aren't different from men's muscles in any fundamental way, although the different hormone quantities make men's muscles bigger. However, when I get happy that I managed to lift more weight or do more reps, I noticed that my wife doesn't share the same excitement at all.
