    Cardio

To lose fat you must burn more than you eat. So she must, eat less and/or exercise more.

    At home cardio options:
    Jump rope
    Jumping Jacks
    Walking lunges
    Step ups
    Squat Thrusts
Circuits (series of any group of big movements; lunges, push ups, jumping jacks, etc.)
    Jogging in place
    Dancing

For some very easy and short workouts to get her heart rate up, she can try some of the free and very simple, low-impact workout videos on youtube. This is good one:

If she's out of shape though, tell her to make sure she takes it easy. I freaking hate it when someone tells me that. When I'm watching a video and someone says: "If this is too hard for you then drop it back down to a lower level" then I take that as a challenge. What do you mean "too hard." I'm a beast! But if she makes herself crazy out of breath and gets dizzy or sick or hurts her joints she's not going to want to do it anymore. Good luck!

this is my thinking too. only thing I see people doing wrong here is, because they workout more they get hungry and eat more. the idea is eat less than normal and workout more than normal=less weight Wink do more walking in normal life, ie if you need something from the shops walk to them instead of a fast trip in the car.

my best advice is get to understand just how much food you should have on your plate. most people way over do it and fill the plate. the average woman has around 2200 cals I think. this amount spread over a day isn't a lot. and one good meal could blow that amount in a single plateful. Shocked

You can always out eat your cardio. For the average person just looking to drop a few pounds, a handful of simple substitutions (water or diet soda vs. regular, skipping desert, salad for lunch once or twice a week, etc.) combined with a little more exercise is more than enough to get started.
