Hello I am writing this for my mom who has been running for most of her life every morning for the past many many years. She is now 50 years old and weighs 124 lbs. She eats small meals throughout the day, but she gains weight very fast. Recently she got shin splits (

She is scared of gaining weight and wants to do something while trying to treat herself and make the pain go away. How can she workout so she does not gain weight? She can not run, bike, or swim. What is the best thing for her to do? Again she does not want to just sit down and gain weight, she wants to stay the same or lose weight.
