As she won't just simply take my word for it, as i train mostly guys, i said i'd ask here.
She needs a few opinions on what the best course of action would be in terms of a workout/cardio and nutrition plan and just generally what to do Smiley.

So my sister she is pretty short around 5 feet, and somewhere between 56-60kgs.

her goal would be to lose weight, she'd want to get thinner thighs/butt and would like to improve her stamina.

a slight problem is she takes after my father, in the fact that she can gain muscle mas pretty easy even tough she's a girl, (a thing i envy greatly ^^)
and a decent % of her thighs are in fact muscle and also has a similar build (you now the weightlifter-type build XD)

she used to play sports regularly, and go jogging and such, she used to have a 6pack Cool, and even then she had pretty large thighs, that combined with her height and build...
i think even while reducing her body-weight she slightly increased her thigh-size.. so it was mostly muscle back then

so any opinions/ suggestions for her would be greatly appreciated.

Has your sister encountered scooby's website?

Ask your sister what she wants - something concrete because what you just wrote now is very general.  Smiley

    i. if you could persuade her to eat clean and at maintance, this will be easy.
ii. the method would be to teach her hiit.  either tabata protocol whereby she does 2-5 minutes of briskwalking, 20 seconds of sprint : 10 second rest for 8 sets, and 2 minutes briskwalking cool down; or 2-5 minute briskwalking warmup, 5-8 sets of 10-15 seconds sprints with rest up to the point she's able to recover.  The latter is something me and my sister did.  We were both out of breathe and it was fun. If there isn't any medical reason for having smaller thighs and it is just for appearance, then I would just explain how skinny legs aren't really better looking, the opposite in many cases.

yeah but you know because of her build and because she is short, her large thighs don't look very well, she looks overweight, sure she has fat on them, which she would lose, but she wouldn't much like to increase her muscle mass in the process you know Smiley
large thighs look good on a taller slimmer build but for her its not so.

her goal more specifically is to thin down as much as possible (while staying healthy of course), as in lose excess fat in a healthy manner, and limiting the amount of mass she would gain in her legs. (so stuff like squats are definitely out of the picture)
so yeah .. loose weight and regain what stamina she lost.

i told her if she loses the excess fat then she'd look okay.
her legs are very strong, back in the day nobody could beat her at the 50m sprint.

i was thinking of getting her to do cardio which also involves upper body as much as possible, since she doesn't gain muscle in her upper body as easy as in her legs, and even if she would add decent amount it would be beneficial to her look since she's not all that broad in upper body.

ps: she is fairly knowledgeable about the subject, and she knows a lot about nutrition all she needs is a good source to base her nutrition plan off of,

I kinda agree with what Owen said. But perhaps you're right that it doesn't fit her build. Then it's pretty simple, a form of cardio that she likes combined with some sort of dietplan (carb cycling, simply eating under her tdee,...).

I'll agree with what's already been said. With her stated goals:

Cardio and mild caloric reduction. For improving stamina; longer duration steady-state cardio (like running, biking, etc.) with some tabata mixed in for sanity. Lifting is never a bad idea, but this is one of those cases where she probably would want to avoid direct leg work (assuming there aren't any muscle imbalances causing knee / hip issues).

While many men carry most of their fat around the waist, many women carry most of it in their thighs. Individuals vary a lot of course, but even if she has lots of muscle dropping a few % in body fat should still make her thighs smaller.

thanks for the replies Smiley i'll check out that blog now.

anybody want to post a nutrition or cardio schedule/plan that she could use as reference (or maybe cross reference xD to fine tune the one i'll be writing i guess) ?

she is looking into going swimming at least 2 times a week, and rest do other tipes of cardio, she comes home from work late so we'd only go jogging on the weekends, and i'll have her doing indoor cardio, interval training, and let her smack the boxing bag for as long as she can bare ^^.

i thinking of somehow pre-exausting her before leg work (like boxing or rowing and the such) so she won't get as much stimulation in her legs.

and i spent yesterday explaining everything i know that could help her with her nutrition, but of course she could use more info on that.
