Hey all, my sis wants to get rid of her flabby triceps. They're not bad or anything, but she's afraid they will be when she gets older. Losing weight is not really an option either... she's 160cm and about 45kgs. I kinda thought to myself that perhaps she'd need to do some tricep exercises.

What's your advice?

Thanks in advance,
Maurice

I think that's normal for women to have some sort of flab... it would be unnatural to have really muscular arms as a woman.

If she'd like to do some exercises , yea could try some bw exercises , even doing normal push-ups would do it i think.

It's normal after a certain age that the skin gets more loose , as the body stops producing collagen (i believe) , but it won't be that bad , that your flabs will look like wings , if you don't have alot of excess skin and looking at her stats , if she keeps being that lean , i doubt she'll have any problems with that.

You can give her some tricep exercises , such as overhead press , skullcrushers , cable pulldown , kickbacks even perhaps... BUT i'd personally get her to do some BW exercises , cause i wouldn't to workout just one bodypart.

As i believe she might want to tighten her ab area , her thighs , butt and so on.

    FULL BODY 3 DAW

    Basic bodyweight routine

     - done thrice a week on non-consecutive days
     - for absolute beginners to any form of fitness
     - to be done in a circuit fashion
     - leg exercise can be - lunges, get-ups, step-ups, eventually practice for pistol squats

    Workout
       A1 Pushups - 3xAMRAP / 60
       A2 Chinups - 3xAMRAP / 60
       A3 Leg exercise - 3xAMRAP / 60

    Read more: 21 routines

The leg exercises could be bw squats , walking lunges , leg-curls.

Any of these exercises can be found trough copypasting the name in "Youtube" or "Google"

    Best of luck

Thanks! But what exactly does AMRAP stand for?

My sis was actually planning to buy a set of dumbells for home to exercise her triceps. I don't think she'll take a gym membership, I can tell her to do pushups I guess.

I'm assuming AMRAP means as many reps as possible.

I'm sorry but spot fat removal is impossible. If she want to remove flabby triceps, she has to lose overall fat and let body decide.

She has to eat clean, do 30 min cardio along with the workouts Ben VN recommends. Can she do chin up or pull up correctly? I guess not. Beginners aren't strong enough for basic workouts. Thus cardio is needed to build overall strength.

It's like skinny fat people doing crunches to rid of love handles :-(

Extra body fat has to be removed first by clean eating and cardio. Only after that, strength workout result will be visible.

Thanks, but I already knew that. Smiley

I used to have a bit of flabs myself too before I started working out, I haven't really lost fat since but my flabs are tighter now without flexing and they don't move nearly as much when I slap them. Perhaps due to muscle gains. So that was my plan I guess.
