I am male but have some serious advice to give you ladies about losing body fat. It basically comes from two sources: my mom (a GP doctor, and quite overweight

) and my sister (anorexia).
You definitely DON'T want to lower your body fat level below the recommended amount. My sister had several problems from that, including loss of hair, loss of nails, mild anemia (that's lack of iron actually), and lack of concentration ability which threw her grades at university down. Luckily she's "recovered" now (meaning that she forces herself to eat a minimum amount of calories per day, even though she doesn't like it). Although general awareness of anorexia and eating disorders has increased, most women think it'll only happen to others. I can't stress this enough: don't go down that road. If you want to lose body fat, compute your BMI. If you are in the "normal" or "underweight" range, see a doctor first.
And you must remember one thing: just like ripped men don't necessarily look more attractive than defined men (i.e. less body fat doesn't mean attractiveness in men, and you ladies are better judges of that than me for sure), the same goes for women. Those toothpicks you see on lingerie ads or clothing stores, with a really flat belly, are UGLY. Sure, it's my personal opinion (+ opinions of a few male friends), so it's not representative of the general population, but a little belly fat, and love handles, works wonders to make girls prettier. Sadly, just like the ridiculous infomercials about losing belly fat and toning your abs in just one week captivate many men at a tricky stage (middle age), all the ads showing skinny girls captivate young girls at a tricky stage (teenage). It's pretty hard to block all that misinformation.
This is slightly off topic regarding the remaining posts but I HAD to get this information out here. Thanks for listening.
