Im just starting out so sorry if I dont sound very experienced.
Ive been going to my gym for 3 or 4 months but have recently decided to start with free weights at home.
Ive been looking up different exercises and ive noticed that there are usually two different types of people. One gets a full body workout everyday. The other works different muscle groups everyday and then continues on that schedule the next week.
Ive been doing the full body workout for the 3 or 4 months that ive been going to the gym. I go to the gym about 4 days a week.
Im looking to gain some muscle mass. Should I stick to the full body or should I work different muscle groups everyday?

Hello there.  I would stick to the full body workout.  Be sure to include compound movements and get plenty of rest.  Have you seen results at your time at the gym? If so, keep at it.  If not, perhaps you should revise your fullbody workout.  Visit the 21 workouts page for more options.  All in all, I would definitely keep the fullbody workout.

I have definitely been seeing results. Im a very lean person so its hard for me to develop any type of muscle mass. I just took a look in the mirror yesterday and boy, did I add alot of muscle mass. Not tons of it but its alot for me. Ive been eating better so that may help. Im still going to go to free weights, because I hear the machines can be too supportive at times. Thanks.

Talking out of experience, I find full-body workouts to be king (from beginners to advanced) It lets you hit each muscle frequently and it can prevent joint-over usage which could occur if you follow a split routine. Also, it is very convenient because you can workout from 2 to 4 times per week. So yeah... I'm a fan  Roll Eyes  We could review your current routine if you wanted to, give some feedback so you can achieve your goal!

    Cheers Wink

well, for the moment you could try a bodyweight-only workout. Refer to "21 workouts" by The_Wolf in the excellent posts section of this forum. I'm sure it will be challenging enough Smiley
